About Jamie K. Waselenko, M.D.

Jamie Kendrick Waselenko, MD, is a skilled, board-certified hematologist and oncologist. She is the founder of Tele-Hematology and Oncology Consult Services in Batavia, Ohio, just east of Cincinnati. She is highly trained in internal medicine, hematology, and oncology, and boasts three decades of medical experience. She is actively board certified in all 3 disciplines and holds an active medical license in Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Kansas, and Iowa.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree, Dr. Waselenko completed medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Waselenko proudly served in the U.S. Army for seventeen years. She completed her internal medicine internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC), her internal medicine residency at Madigan Army Medical Center, and her hematology and oncology fellowship at WRAMC. She received additional post-graduate training in translational research and bone marrow transplantation at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Waselenko served at two of the Army’s teaching hospitals, WRAMC and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. She specialized in hematologic malignancies, solid tumor oncology, benign hematology, and bone marrow transplant during her time. She left the U.S. Army in 2005 as a Lieutenant Colonel.

After leaving the military, Dr. Waselenko joined the Sarah Cannon Research Institute and Tennessee Oncology research team. There she started the leukemia program and was director of leukemia research. Additionally, she became clinical director and led a team in the development and recruitment for Sarah Cannon Blood and Marrow Transplant Program. Dr. Waselenko has conducted research and has publications focused on leukemia, lymphoma, stem cell transplantation, and acute radiation syndrome management.

Following her time in Nashville, Dr. Waselenko relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio where she practiced for fourteen years. She left full-time practice at The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio to establish Tele-Hematology and Oncology Consult Services. This unique platform allows Dr. Waselenko to offer her years of experience in the care of patients and oncology programs caring for patients with complex hematologic and oncologic problems far removed from Cincinnati. Dr. Waselenko conducts second opinion hematology and oncology consultations and primary hematology consults through this virtual platform. She also provides contract services to hospitals, cancer centers, and oncology clinics in need of on-call coverage, in-patient and out-patient hematology, and oncology consultative services remotely via this telemedicine platform.

She offers exceptional care that addresses the needs of the soul, body, and spirit after leaving her traditional practice to include alternative healing modalities in addition to contemporary, state-of-the-art hematology and oncology care. Dr. Waselenko includes prayer with patients and their families if requested.

She maintains her medical credentials with continuing education to stay current with the latest advances in oncology and hematology. She is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and holds professional associations in the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, Society of Hematologic Oncology, and American Society of Hematology.
